synopsis
In 1923 London, socialite Clarissa Dalloway’s well-planned party is overshadowed by the return of an old suitor she had known 33 years earlier. Based on Virginia Woolf’s classic novel. This is a film that emphasises voice and discourse, which according to Luce Irigaray is a very important symbolic activity. Discourse as dialogue, voice-over or inner monologue has also been explored by authors such as Breillat, also present in this cycle. The focus on “discourse” will bring to light the intersubjective and ethical dimension of her female characters.
